Today was the last day of school...
time for summer vacation!
My son was awarded with an academic achievement award...
proof that I'm not just a bragging mom when she says her kids are smart!

I'm so sorry that I've been lax in posting everyday,
I've been working late hours, and with that sleeping later in the day,
and in turn seeing less of the world around me...
I am making every attempt to take a picture every day,
at least one!
Of course scheduling may prevent from posting on the date the picture was taken...

So I HATE Crocs...
or at least I hate the "traditional" form of them.
I however, have found a pair of Crocs (in name only)
not only that I like,
that I bought,
but now wear!!
Of course I'm a bit of a flip flop junkie,
just LOVE them!
And to find a pair of Crocs that don't have that traditional
"clown shoe" look.

They're Crocs yes...
BUT...
they're flip flops!!

Train Bound for No Where

So today was Friday the 13th...
and I heard that there was a bomb threat
at the train station,
no trains allowed anywhere near the Oshawa station today...
I can just imagine if this were to have happened next Tuesday
when my Grandmother arrives in Oshawa via train,
she would be livid...
not that there was a potential bomb,
not that she couldn't get to to destination,
but that she was forced to wait even longer for a cigarette!

Today my son Wes came over to tell me that he's getting help for his addiction.
He goes to not only narcotics anonymous,
but another support group as well.
These key chains he gave to his father and myself,
he wears one around his neck with pride.
Today is his 4th day clean...
I'm so proud of him,
doing something that I know is so difficult for him!

General Motors

So in the news of late a lot about GM's impending closure of
the Oshawa truck plant,
I live in Oshawa, and happen to work
right near the GM corporate offices.
This past week,
there has been a lot of picketing & rallying
to keep the plant open, currently there are tents, and an outhouse
along with numerous GM vehicles blocking the path
to the offices...
this is just a small glimpse of what we see out our office windows!

Today was the first time in almost one year that I'd seen her...
Her and her mom were visiting from London Ontario,
so much has changed in that one year!

Lilacs are absolutely my favorite flower,
I know technically they're a bush...
But they're so pretty and I adore the smell!
These were so full and bright,
there was no way I could not take their photo!
I only wish you could smell them through the photograph!

Foggy-ish

Today was the crappiest weather,
rainy and hot...
which of course results in steam coming up off the ground,
at least near work it does!
The white is fog...
really kinda lost off in the distance,
having to take the picture through a window at work
you kinda lose the full effect!
